Brannrose Publishing is one year old.

Brannrose Forlag er et år.

Brannrose Forlag has now been around for a whole year.

It's almost unbelievable how fast it's gone!

In this year, I have managed to publish two poetry books, hire an editor, sign another author, release an anthology for pre-sale, and am in the process of editing another.

Brannrose Forlag was always meant to be more than just mine. The name Brannrose has its own story that I can write about another day, but the name itself, for our part, is about standing in one's own truth, even if that truth burns others.

There was once a person who told me, if no one gets mad at you, you're doing something wrong.

When you publish a book, there will always be some people who get mad, for various reasons. Some may feel envy, some get offended, some feel hurt by your words, and some are so deeply hurt inside that they don't wish others well.

That's why it's important to me that those who wish to publish a book through my publishing house stand firmly in the story they want to share with the world.

Regardless of genre and theme. Personally, I have written two very different poetry books (I published "En annerledes stjerne" with my fantastic co-author Siv Svensli), one of which is about what it's like to be a lioness mom, meaning life when your child/children need more adaptation/help than expected for their age. And the other is about spiritual abuse, life experience, and care.

What both books have in common is loneliness, love, and hope.

That's what I want people to be left with when they think of the name Brannrose.

Love, courage, and hope.

I look forward to the next year at the publishing house, because it will be a fantastic year too!

Take care of yourself as best you can.

Read more books, go into nature, and talk to a friend.
